About Me

Hello! Thank you for your interest in Jaclyn Collins Photography.

I have been drawn to photograpy since I was a young child. I was inspired by my grandfather who always kept his camera close by and who ran his own photography business after WWII. I spent a lot of my free time pouring over his photo albums and experimenting with his camera equipment. I quickly developed a passion for preserving my own memories and capturing the beauty that surrounds me here in New England.

My hobby turned into a more serious endeavor as I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Salve Regina University where I majored in black and white film photography. I continued my studies by completing the Digital Photography program at the Boston University Center of Digital Imaging Arts. Here I developed my skills and started to gain experience in both wedding, event and portrait photography.

As a wedding and event photographer, I have learned to be present and ready when the client needs me, but otherwise to be unobtrusive and discrete while capturing the emotion and the details (big and small), of your event. I love catching those little moments that happen between the big moments and then pulling them all together to tell the story of your unique day.

It is a great compliment when my wedding clients call me back in a year or two to take portraits of their newborn and growing family. I started my career as a family portrait photographer and it is here that I began to hone my skills. It is thrilling to me when I capture a toddler’s adorable giggle, a teenagers genuine smile or a simple yet telling glance between family members. I love working with families and children. My laid-back nature lends itself nicely to this area of my work and my upbeat and fun personality make these unforgettable shots come naturally.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to hearing from you.
